Sony F800 XDCAM HD Camcorder

The PDW-F800 camcorder is by far HotCams most popular camera. Offering shoulder mount, multi-format recording and shooting on Sony's reliable XDCAM disks, the F800 is arguably the most reliable camcorder available. It is equipped with three 2/3-inch type CCDs and a Power HAD FX progressive CCD with 1920 x 1080 effective pixels. The PDW-F800 offers very high quality HD recording at a data rate of up to 50Mbps using the MPEG-2 4:2:2 compression. It also provides multi-format recording flexibility including 1080i, 720P and SD, which comes with HD/SD conversion and cross conversion between 1080i and 720P.

Using HotCam's 'Mobile Broadcast System' the F800 has been turned from a reliable ENG camera to a powerful studio camera. By using the internal recording function on the F800 and adding fibre optic technology, we have made a fully racked and studio compatible system which not only surpasses the quality you would expect from a studio OB but gives you ISOs of every camera at no extra cost (except the cost of the disc!).
